Kava Origins:
This kava is sourced from Santa Isabel, part of the Solomon Islands' kava-growing region. The Feo variety is known for its potency and is one of the primary kava exports of the region.
Sourced from small family farms, this kava is organically grown and has been carefully cultivated to enhance its kavain content and increase its desirable effects.
Cultivation:
-
Noble Lateral Root: The powder is derived from the lateral roots, which are higher in kavalactones, making it more potent.
- Basil Root: The root ball base of the kava plant is peeled, cut into chips, and pounded. This root is typically milder in kavalactones and provides a creamier texture.
Farmer Background:
This kava comes from a farmers co-operative in the Solomon Islands, where kava farming is deeply integrated into local life. The co-op fosters relationships with farmers in remote regions, ensuring the highest quality kava and fair compensation for the hard-working farmers.
This partnership helps maintain the integrity of the product, ensuring it meets high standards for quality and fairness.
Brewing Directions:
Single Serving:
-
50g of kava in 20oz of water. Blend for 4 minutes and strain for a smooth experience.
Gallon Method:
-
For a larger batch, use 100–130g of kava in 1 gallon of room-temperature water. Place the kava in a nut bag or cheesecloth, and steep for 15–20 minutes, massaging the bag to extract the kavalactones. This method will result in a milder kava, perfect for sharing.
- Tip: Add 4oz of coconut milk (20% of your gallon) to enhance the flavor for a creamier finish.
